Mom and Pop Dayley flew to my grandfather's in Oregon. Grandpa has been through surgery and isn't able to get up on his roof to replace it like he used to . So Mom and Pop, Uncle John and even Uncle Jack and Aunt Joan decided to take on the project. With family from both sides in one spot, Greg working so much we rarely saw him, the kids and I packed the wagon tight and headed south. We stayed in our favorite motel on the beach and played all hours. Aunt Carol brought her grandkids over and we enjoyed playing with cousins Gage and Isabel. Both 4 years old, the kids were instant friends. We had so much fun the kids didn't want to leave (until they missed daddy). We saw pelicans and seals. Collected aggots and shells. Climbed through a dark cave. Dug a HUGE hole in the sand which made a great pool-side addition to the sandcastle. Cassidy made sure we were the first ones on the beach so she could find a whole sand dollar. It's never a bad time when PaPa and MyMy are near. It was great to see grandpa and think about all the different times I got to see him throughout my life. Living so far away we didn't see him often, being as shy as I was, I didn't talk to him as much as I wanted to. I do remember as a child, slowly sneaking up on his lap just to be with him.
